We are on the journey of following God's plans for our life by starting a family through adoption. We are so excited to see how God continues to work in and through our lives!! We were married in 2006 and adopted our first son, Jacob in April 2011. We started the process again and we added Kaleb and Isaiah to our family in December 2011.
Brad is a Junior High Counselor. He loves being outdoors. I (Tara) am a 2nd grade teacher. I love stampin', reading, and taking pictures. We both LOVE being parents to our boys!
Adoption has been something that we both always dreamed about, but we were scared to take the first step to get started. The financial aspect of adoption is scary. It is expensive. But one day while eating lunch with some friends in Nov. 2009, our friends said her sister and brother-in-law have adopted 3 times. Brad and I at the same time said "How have they afforded it?" Our friend simply said "God has provided." That was the little push we needed to step out in faith and start the adoption process. We have been truly blessed along this journey, because every need has been met so far!! We are so thankful for all the people that have allowed God to use them to bless us!!
On January 27, 2011 at 1:48pm we received our referral for a 7 week old boy!! We were in love from the moment we saw his picture!! On February 23rd we got the phone call that we have a court date of March 31st!! We couldn't wait to meet Jacob and experience Ethiopia together as a family!! We spent 2 months in Ethiopia waiting to pass court then to clear Embassy. We brought Jacob home on May 20, 2011.
On October 6, 2011 we received the referral for Isaiah (10 1/2 year old) and Kaleb (20 months). We actually had met them when we were there adopting Jacob. We didn't think their papers would be ready, but the same week our homestudy was approved, their papers were all ready too. God's perfect timing!! We traveled back to Ethiopia in December 2011 (yes only 7 months later). On December 30, 2011 we passed court. We spent three months in Ethiopia waiting for them to clear Embassy and brought them home on March 3, 2012.
